How will you learn?

<aside> 📖 See details of the curriculum here

Throughout the 10-week program, you will work closely (in a team of 6) with an experienced VC from one of our partner firms. You will be a campus scout for your assigned firm.

ASES Breakthrough is split into 5 main sections (2-weeks each):

  1. VC Fundamentals
  2. Building a World View
  3. Evaluating Opportunities
  4. Portfolio Support
  5. Create Your Own VC — Simulation!

For each section, you will get to…

  1. Work on a unique capstone project (e.g. create an investment memo)
  2. Engage with your VC mentor via a Q&A + project feedback
  3. Listen to 2 invited guest speakers on a topic relevant to the section

Who is this program for?

<aside> 👥 We take in undergraduate, post-grad, master’s, and PhD students — the only requirement is that you are studying at Stanford!

While explicitly, we teach you how to think like a venture capitalist; more broadly, we teach you how to **evaluate opportunities.

What problems are people currently solving? How do you know if a problem is worth solving? How do you build hypotheses and a model of the world around you?**

We believe this is an extremely value and important skill to have as an aspiring venture capitalist, founder, and entrepreneur.
